The following is text that I append to any work that is sold or gifted. It attempts to address what happens once a work is out of my hands and potentially part of a commercial system.
The work and the wish are two pieces of a whole.
The work is simple and resides in a frame.
The wish resides in words and adds a complication.
The complication mirrors a consideration of mine, problems
that underpin my work. Hence the wish attempts to gracefully
ask for some retention of control.
The wish is that, if the work changes hands for more than
the purchase price, that half of the difference in prices
is donated to a cause that is attempting to positively
address critical environmental problems.
